J.B. Reynolds lives in rural Northland, New Zealand, where he raises children and chickens. After graduating from the University of Otago in 1997, he travelled and worked a variety of jobs: graphic designer, landscaper, ski and snowboard technician, film critic, librarian, apple picker, and baker of muffins and teacakes. He retrained as a teacher in 2011 and has been teaching ever since.
When not writing or teaching, he enjoys DIY, mountain biking, and playing music, really loud, when his wife and kids aren't at home. He has a big garden where he likes to get his fingernails dirty, and he loves to eat the things that grow in it (except for the chickens — they're off limits).
He writes humorous fiction in which tragedy meets comedy and character reigns supreme. As an indie author, he has been publishing stories since 2016. He is currently working on several shorter pieces of speculative fiction, including a novelette and two novellas.
